    Hey everyone,

Just a couple general questions for you professionals.

    Here’s what I’m running (If it’s relevant):
    Mac 8-core 2.8ghz
    6gigs ram
    Final Cut Pro 7
    After Effects CS4
    AJA kona LS card

I have a couple clients now asking me to post their tv spots so they can have the tv stations download them for broadcast, as opposed to sending them a beta sp tape. I have always preferred to send a tape, but the download factor is a time saver.

What are the drawbacks to doing this? What video codec is recommended? And does it have to be 720×486 or is 720×480 ok for broadcast?

    Thanks in advance!

    Casey

Many of the stations I deal with have given me different specs for what they want – most are QT or mpeg-2. You will be best checking with the stations you deal with.
