I’m capturing HDV footage in PPro CS3 via Firewire with a JVC BR-HD50 deck. Doing things the traditional way, I logged each shot by hand, and then Batch Captured all the clips.

It finds the In-Point of each clip with no problem while capturing. But it captures around 30 to 40 seconds of footage after all of my Out-Points, and I can’t figure out why. It’s basically taking at least double the amount of time to capture the footage off the tape since it is doing this, and also wasting extra disk space.

The Pre-Roll time on the capture settings is set to 2 seconds, and the Timecode Offset is 0 frames. Additionally, I’m not using any Handles. I can’t seem to find a Post-Roll option anywhere to stop it from capturing so much footage after each Out-Point.

Any ideas? Or am I just blind?

There maybe a firmware update to the deck, you might want to check with jvc
