Prior to using ProRes 422, I had been capturing using the HDV easy setup, which allows for entry of clip information, including reel number, etc, in the capture process. Unfortunately, now that I have switched to HDV to ProRes422 capture easy setup, all I can do is enter a single file name for the capture. This means that information must be entered after the files have been captured.
My question is: can I enter the same information for several clips in a bin at one time, without having to type in the same info clip by clip? I tried selecting a group and then entering, against the first one in the Reel column, a reel number, but it did not copy that to the others in the selected group.

Enter a reel number in the Reel Column, then select a group of clips, then right click in the Reel Column and select the reel number from the pop-up menu and it will be applied to all the clips in the group. As far as I know this same process will work for any column in FCP’s Browser.
