  possible to upgrade ibm intellistation (mc 12) to new motherboard + cpu?

  we have two media composers (v.12) and one symphony (v.5) on ibm intellistations running WIN 2k. is it possible to upgrade the pc hardware on these machines to something “a little faster” than the p3 867MHz they came with? we are more than happy with the machines and do not want to replace them with adrenaline systems, but importing/exporting/encoding could use a speed boost.
  apart from that, has anyone tried to install WIN XP on such a box?
