Possible to select only moving pixels?
Hi everyone,
I’d like to grade separately the subject and the background. Let’s say that the background is still and the subject is moving, it should be easy to select the subject-only if there were a tool for selecting only the moving pixels (or only the still pixels). Do you know if there is something similar in Davinci Resolve?

The only way I can think of is to;
Copy the clip to v2. Go to blending mode, select difference for blending mode, apply noise reduction and tweak gain, turn B&W, export that clip as something high quality like prores4444. Delete copy of clip on v2. Use that clip as an external matte to drive a correction node on v1. You will probably have to tweak the matter to get desired results, maybe with blur etc. Good luck.
