  • Possible to install prores 422 in fcp6?

Posted by Morgan Curtis on March 22, 2013 at 12:37 am

Thought maybe proappsqtcodecs might install prores 422 for me. But no soap!
Prores 422 is not available via easy setup in fcp6 now. Where can can find the codec? And how do I install it (I got a feeling I am about to be told to buy fcp7)?

    Thanks!

    Mac Book Pro (V.10.6.8)
2,5 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo
    4GB RAM

The fact that is not available as a preset doesn’t means that Prores is not installed.
Do you have Prores as an option when exporting a movie from QT?
    It should be there.
    Prores comes with FCP.6.

If you have a legit copy of FCP 6, the codec is included. Try reinstalling FCP 6.

Huge Thank you to Steve and Rafael!

Prores not available via QT (Rafael’s Suggestion). But took Steve’s advice and reinstalled FCP6. That did the trick. Have to wonder why it failed to be included in the first installation.

    Thank you, Thank you!
