  • Possible to gang 2 sequences open in 2 separate windows?

I have 2 sequences open, each have there own sequence window and repsective canvas window, so that I can see both timelines and video at the same time.

I’d like to gang them together but when I select gang in the canvas, it puts both canvas windows in gang mode but does not gang. Each playback head scrubs independently.

Is is possible to do what I’m trying? It seems that I can only gang the canvas to the viewer, not a viewer to another viewer. I know I could drag one of the sequences into the viewer window and have both sequences ganged that way, but then I can’t see the other sequences timeline.

The reason for all this is part of my sync checking process I do when I online. I want to check my onlined sequence up against the offline sequence. This is the first time I’ve onlined in FCP. I usually work in Avid where I’m used to toggling between the source and record monitor alternating between both sequences with the hit of a button.

    Hi Mkie,
not sure if this is possible. I generally export a quicktime movie of my offline version, load that up in the viewer and gang it to the online sequence.
