I am troubleshooting a crashy project past a critical deadline.

Routine crashes when opacity, motion and cropping are applied to clips above other clips on timeline. Also on certain spots on the timeline. SOmetimes with no discernable pattern.

ELiminated the one nested sequence I had. Didn’t help.

Suggestions welcome – both on potentailproblmes and their diagnosis.

Problmes similair after changing system to now Dell Dimension 8400 3.0 Ghz. PPro 1.5.1. 3GB ram. ATI x300 Video card. Matrox rt.x10 card.

PPro 1.5.1 is the problem – Your motherboard speaks a different language – Your video card speaks a different language – your device drivers speak a different language – the OS is trying to translate but it’s not all coming out quite right.

The most current version this project is compatible with is 2.0, so I’m considering the change if I can find a copy. Likely better or same translation problems?

I think better – I think in 2.0 they adopted the SSE2 CPU instruction set. Or go find an old machine – though 1.5 was never very stable.
