Portion of frame is over exposed
Hello,
I have an over-the-shoulder shot of a client signing a contract, however, the contract (white paper) is totally blown out so it looks like he is signing a blank contract. See 7 sec clip here:

I don’t need to see exactly what is on the contract, but I want it to look like there is something written on it. Is there a way to darken that portion of the image in AE so that some of the text comes thru or is that just wishful thinking. Creating a mask over the paper perhaps?
Any ideas/solutions would be much appreciated.

You can duplicate the layer, mask that part of the screen and apply the “Extract” effect. Then raise the black point and black softness to extract the white paper from the shot. Then apply a levels or exposure effect to adjust the paper if there is enough information there.
