  • Portable plugins possible?

After 10 years working with the same company, I am now on my own and freelancing. I have a bunch of my own personal plugs that I would like to use. Right now I am looking at getting a laptop (possibly) but for now, I am working on a client’s computer. There are a few of my plugs (trapcode specifically) that I would like to use but I don’t want to install them on the client’s computer. Is there a way where I can have my registered plugs sit on a portable hard drive and use them on another computer? I looked around and couldn’t find any answers. I don’t even think you can change the plugin directory in AE.

    Thanks,
    Bill

Many plugins tie themselves to the system they’re installed on as part of the installation process, though I’m not sure if this is the case with the Trapcode suite or not.

Unfortunately, your best bet is probably to install them like normal, and then uninstall them when you leave.
