Portable Edit Suite
Hi all
I will be travelling to a remote location next month with 3 camera ops shooting Sony EX1s/3s. (Hi-Def LongGOP mpg2 format)
I will be required to put together several program packages for playback whilst on location, and so I am wondering whether anyone has been in this same situation, and how they went about it.
My current AJA PremPro 3 suite is nowhere near portable enough.
So I intend immediately upgrading to PremPro5 (and then madly get up to speed with the software over the next few weeks)!I was thinking of purchasing an ACER Z5710 i3 All in One TouchScreen PC, with eSATA port… plus buying an eSATA 4 disk Raid box.
I am sure PPro 5 can handle this, I’m just hoping I can get enough bandwidth out of the little Raid unit.
Anyone in the same position… Do you think this would work for me?Cheers

I am currently using CS5 Master Collection on a Sager Laptop with a eSATA connected G-Safe. I am working with the EX-1R and I just love CS5 and my laptop. It is a killer $5600.00 laptop that gives me 6 or more streams of EX footage with realtime preview and effects. Drop me a note if you want more information.
