I want to have an icon pop up randomly and rapidly on a layer.
I used the effect foam, but the particles kinda grow from center, I want to have my icon “populate” the layer randomly but for each particle to just stay in place.

I know this should be easy.

If you have AE 6.5 or 7 you can use Particle Systems II or Particle World. Put the logo in a pre-comp and apply Particle World to the logo pre-comp. Under Particle Type, select Textured Square. It will then use the pre-comp as the particle and you’ll have all the logos you can eat.

    cheers,
    Jim

That textured square just gives me a buch of squares.
I want my logos to pop up randomly about the comp so that eventually the logos fill the screen, I don’t want them to have any motion, just a good random pop up.
    Thanks in advance

did you adjust the dynamics down to nil? So they don’t move.
