Hey All, I am trying to get points to pop up onto a map. I’ve tried the foam effect but the points move around when they appear.

I am trying in Particle Playground but am not having much luck. Any one get a direction to a tutorial?

Is there a reason you are using a particle generator instead of scaling a solid with a circular mask?
Are there a multitude of points or something?

Here is what I did, although the render time is going to suck really hard. What I was looking for was making 5-sided boxes (sorta 3d) pop out of the ground all over a map. So I made one and then duped it about 80x. I then put those into 2 comps. It is choking my machine but it getting the effect I am looking for. Anyone know of a less processor intensive method?

Yeah i was over thinking it. Basically I had a “3d” box made out of solids and then animated that. Made 80 of them and randomly distributed them across the map. I wanted to have a 3d feel to the dots. Every change is taking about 30sec-1min to render so I think I am going to take you suggestion and just make it simple.
