  • poor quality dissolves in FCP 5

Since upgrading to FCP 5, I noticed 30% of my 1 sec dissolves are not smooth but end abruptly, they were fine in FCP 4.5. I deleted the whole render file and started over but no improvement. Possible a clean install of FCP 5 instead of an upgrade may help.

    Thanks, for the help.

It will sure help. I have about 2-8 % of all the problems reported on forums.
90 % is just poor installs or poor workflow.
Take the time ’cause it is worth it.

Make sure that you are enabled for high quality renders:
Safe RT at High Quality in the RT pop up menu
Full and Preview bars checked in the Sequence>Render Menus
Motion filtering quality set to best in the Sequence>Settings>Video Processing tab.
