I am having trouble getting a good capture through my Decklink Extreme card. Basically it looks like a phase or termination type issue, where there is a shift and my luminance drops significantly. Rather than try to explain it all here I made a webpage with some screen captures showing my problem.

I will warn ahead that it is fairly long, but if anyone has time to check it out and thinks they might be able to help I would greatly appreciate it.
    The link is

I’ll apologize for my lack of web authoring ability – I’m an editor not a web designer.

I would throw away the reference thingy and lock the deck on the input, not on the reference… Our UVW-1800P nicely locks on the input, it can even lock on a VHS composite signal, better than any other VTR I’ve ever seen.

Doesn’t your UVW-1800 complain then that it doesn’t have a reference?

Yes, but besides complaining, it does work.

You are running your Y (luma) signal through the reference first… is that supposed to work? why don’t you try using the y out of the decklink card for ref in on the deck. Set the y out to output black on capture.. (in your os x system settings decklink pane)

Just a shot in the dark.. Good luck.
