September 19, 2006 at 12:00 pmNucleo opens severel instances of AE )That number is based on your processors) and manages the resources so that nothing competes with anything else and causes a crash. Nucleo Pro allows you to work while rendering in the BG, but the forground window of AE )The one not rendering) gets as many resources as it needs to get the job done.
And as you mentioned, this is good for image sequences only. Nucleo and Nucleo Pro does video as well – and als RAM previews which this cannot do.
On the other hand, it’s still a nice solution in a fix – at least for you mac people – we windows users are on our own…
Thanks for the info. I’m sure many people will find this helpful.

Not really … create a shortcut to AE with this target:
“C:Program Files:Adobe:After Effects 6.5:Support Files:AfterFX.exe” -m
(the COW doesn’t like slashes)That shortcut can launch the second instance of AE, once the first is set up.
