Point Fly in Effect
Hey everyone, I’m fairly new here so bare with me.
I’m animating some point cloud data imported from Rhino and I have the objects (~35,000 mograph boxes) as objects in Cinema 4d. The effect I am trying to accomplish is having the boxes fly in from the left to create the point cloud shape. I could animate each box 1 by 1 but there’s 35,000 of them. I looked at text dissolving tutorials, but the dont give the right effect. I want it to be like the image above (this is a screen shot of the point cloud):

your point cloud data is imported into an empty polygon so you have vertexes in a single object? If so, you can use a Cloner in Object mode to attach a box to each vertex then use a couple effectors (Plain by itself or with a Random to add ..randomness 🙂
