Folks have been using Canon FD and other legacy lenses via adapters on MFT cameras for years, with great results.

I use >45 yr. old Nikkor SLR stills primes on my Lumix GH1, GH2 & GH3 cameras, and also Sony FS100, and will also use them on my new Blackmagic Production Camera 4K when it arrives “soon”. I use lens adapters from RedRock Micro, Metabones, and Fotodiox’s “pro” line. I also use a Metabones SpeedBooster on the FS100 with Canon EOS lenses.

AbelCine’s “FOV Comparator” tool has been recently updated to include all of BMD’s cameras and at least 1 Panasonic MFT cameras. Makes it easy to visualize the effects of various sensor sizes on effective lens focal lengths and FOV:

We have a large collection of Canon FD lenses, including some super fast f/1.2L primes. They all work wonderfully on the Pocket (as well as the BMCC MFT if needed).

Hi Walter – to echo what Peter and Marco have said…one of my favorite lenses is the Canon FD 50mm f1.8. It spends a lot of time on my BMPCC.

    A couple of thoughts, though:

    1. The BMPCC’s 3x crop will turn your wide lenses into medium lenses and your medium lenses into telephotos. My 50mm lens is now a fast telephoto 🙂

    2. I wouldn’t spend $43 on that adapter from B&H. A $14 Fotasy adapter will work just fine.

    Hope this is helfpul!

FOV crop factor: That’s why I linked to Abel’s “FOV Comparator” tool in my reply above.

    Cheers.
