PNG sequences in 3D comp appear pixelated
I’m working on a project that involves a lot of After Effects 3D, and recently started replacing some placeholders with animated PNG sequences from the project’s animator. When I export, everything in the comp comes out crisp and clean, but the PNG sequence layers are coming out pixelated. I’ve got the boxes for Frame Blend and Quality set to Best on the layer in the comp.
…Okay, so as I’m writing this, I tested an export at full res (1080p) in Render Settings and it came out fine. What I have been doing previously is exporting at 1/3 res to QC the comps and test them for timing with the editor. The final exports will be 1080p. But in the meantime, why would a PNG sequence come out pixelated in a 1/3 size (but full quality) export, when every other layer (stills, shapes, photoshop, text, precomps, etc) has always come out fine? I don’t have the time to export everything at ful res whenever I want to test comps, but I’d like to have a decent idea of what the end result will look like.
