PNG Images
Question on preparing images for an uncompressed NTSC sequence. With this Easy Setup being an Interlaced sequence, when sizing and saving images in Photoshop as PNG files, does it matter how you save them. Meaning should you choose None or Interlaced? I know TIFs work as well and TIFs don’t give you this option.
Here’s what I did and let me know if this is correct. I chose to keep the images Progressive by choosing None. Here’s why and I’m not sure if this is correct or not. By choosing None and keeping full progressive images, I figured that the actual field order in the FCP sequence (being Lower Even) will interlace the images anyway. And if not truly in the sequence, it should on export of the final SD 720×486 Interlaced quicktime file, right? So is it really necessary to save PNG files using the interlaced option? Or is keeping it set to None (progressive) OK?
