  • PluralEyes Multiclips Need render in FCP 7?

Posted by Kiran Goldman on July 6, 2010 at 3:27 am

    Hi,

I am editing a two-camera interview shot with the EX3 and the Canon 5D/7D. I transcoded all the 5D/7D footage to match the EX3 settings, and then used PluralEyes to sync the footage and create multiclips. I have my sequence settings set to 1920 by 1080 HDTV 1080i (16:9), frame rate is 23.98, and the Compressor is XDCAM EX 1080p24 (35MB/s VBR).

The settings for the multiclips are frame rate 23.98, XDCAM EX 1080p24 (35MB/s VBR).

Do you know why there is always a green render bar over the multiclips when I try to edit them into the timeline? Is there a way around them? Is this a problem that is caused by using PluralEyes.

    Thanks!

Is the render for the picture or audio? Is the audio 48khz 16 or 24 bit?

A green render bar is normal. You will always have some tender bar over multiclips. There is no way to have NO render. Green render bar should play back fine.

Agreed. You have to remember, a multiclip is playing back multiple streams, hence the green bar.

If I create the multiclips withing FCP, there is no render bar, but if I use PluralEyes to create the multiclips, then there is a green render bar when I try to edit into the sequence. Any idea why this is only happening with the multiclips from PluralEyes and not from the multiclips created within FCP?

[Kiran Goldman] “Any idea why this is only happening with the multiclips from PluralEyes and not from the multiclips created within FCP?”

No, but the multiclips that I create in FCP always have a render bar. It is never the dark grey ‘full’ bar.

Perhaps contact SIngular Software and see what they say.

Once you’ve completed your edit, collapse the multiclip and the green render bar should disappear.

I’m getting a RED render bar over my multiclip created within pluraleyes. All of my footage specs match the timeline specs (XDCAM EX 720p60). Any ideas?

In your sequence, go to the “rt” button in the top left corner. Is the “Multiclip Playback” option checked?

Any filters on your master clips?

I sa wjsut yesterday or before, there’s a new update the Plural Eyes that did something with multiclips. If these don’t work, maybe try the update?
