Plural Eyes Reveal Master Clip
Hi,
I posted this issue on the Singular website and haven’t received a response and since I think it may be a FCP issue more than the Plural Eyes software, I figure I’d give it a shot here.
After getting a sync sequence, I would like to reveal the master clip in the bin in case I ever have to go back to original. Sometimes Final Cut can find it, other times it cannot and gives the standard message “The clip’s master clip is not present. Would you like to add a master clip to the Browser?”
All of the master clips are in the project, so they all should be visible by Final Cut.
As a workaround, I’ve dragged all the synchronized clips from the sequence created by Plural Eyes into a new bin in Final Cut essentially creating new master clips which should be easily referenced when using the “reveal master clip” option. However, it is also hit or miss, where some clips are recognized as the master clip in the bin and others still bring up the message, do you want to add it to the browser.
I know Plural Eyes is creating temp sync files, but I don’t see any temp video files so I didn’t think there’d be a disconnect between the original unsynced master clip, and the same clip after it was synchronized by Plural Eyes.
I’m thinking it just a communication issue between Plural Eyes and FCP but if anyone knows of a workaround, it would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Colin
