Plugins aren’t appearing in the Video FX tab.
Weird.
I had this problem ealier and I posted on here about it. At the time I thought the plugins weren’t installing and since discovered that they are.
My plugins install but I can’t see them in the Video FX tab.
The reason I know they are installed is because I can see the plugin on the event on pre saved projects. So if I open an older project and look at the event I can see the plugin and make changes to it etc.
I just can’t see it in Video FX.
Referring to Magic Bullet and Zenote Plugins.

There were some changes to the way Vegas hooks plugs in Version 7(?), and some DX plugs don’t show up. MB should be seen no matter what. Zenote…I haven’t tried to load in Vegas Pro 8, but it wouldn’t surprise me if they don’t show; their developer hasn’t been around the Vegas community for a while, or at least I haven’t seen him around.
Doesn’t help your problem, but…
Do you have an earlier version of Vegas? If so, do these plugs show up there? Have you tried registering the .dll’s directly in Vegas?Douglas Spotted Eagle

The plugs work fine in Vegas 7.0.
How do I register the .dll’s manually?
