I have a bluray I am converting to WMV to play on my Xbox. I also am running thru vegas to clean it up. On a stand alone video system running Win 7 64-bit and Vegas 12 64-bit. Convert BluRay to MKV. Original MKV is:

    Video
    ID : 1
    Format : VC-1
    Format profile : Advanced@L3
    Codec ID : V_MS/VFW/FOURCC / WVC1
    Codec ID/Hint : Microsoft
    Duration : 2h 16mn
    Bit rate : 16.1 Mbps
    Width : 1 920 pixels
    Height : 1 080 pixels
    Display aspect ratio : 16:9
    Frame rate mode : Constant
    Frame rate : 23.976 fps
    Chroma subsampling : 4:2:0
    Bit depth : 8 bits
    Scan type : Progressive
    Compression mode : Lossy
    Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.324
    Stream size : 15.3 GiB (94%)
    Language : English
    Default : No
    Forced : No

Because Vegas can’t open it, convert to WMV at 20k bitrate. Video plays fine on Xbox. Here is it’s specs:

    General
    Complete name : D:Conversion2 – WorkingMatrixMatrixMatrix-20k.wmv
    Format : Windows Media
    File size : 17.1 GiB
    Duration : 2h 16mn
Overall bit rate mode : Constant
Overall bit rate : 17.9 Mbps
Maximum Overall bit rate : 20.1 Mbps
    Encoded date : UTC 2013-10-18 21:19:12.919

    Video
    ID : 2
    Format : VC-1
    Format profile : Advanced@L4
    Codec ID : WVC1
    Codec ID/Hint : Microsoft
Description of the codec : VC-1 – VC-1 Advanced Profile
    Duration : 2h 16mn
    Bit rate mode : Constant
    Bit rate : 20.0 Mbps
    Width : 1 920 pixels
    Height : 796 pixels
    Display aspect ratio : 2.40:1
    Frame rate : 23.976 fps
    Chroma subsampling : 4:2:0
    Bit depth : 8 bits
    Scan type : Progressive
    Compression mode : Lossy
    Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.546
    Stream size : 19.0 GiB
    Language : English (US)

But as mentioned want to clean it up a bit with NeatVideo. I convert to AVI uncompressed. Then convert to WMV. Video on Xbox plays back looks like it’s stuttering or missing frames. I have this issue if I use any filter in Vegas. Be it NeatVideo or a built in sharpening filter. If I run it thru without selecting any filter it seems fine. I make sure the video is at 23.976 fps the whole process.

    Thoughts?
