July 19, 2005 at 12:14 pmThanks Michael. And the good news is that V2.5 of Film Effects is finished, and I’m just working on finishing up the instructions. V2.5 is a free upgrade from previous versions and includes a whole host of new features:
Faster Rendering
Newly optimised de-interlacers for all occaisions
new gamma plugins
new chroma sharpening plugins (suitable for HDV, HD, DV, PAL DV, SD etc.)
Anti-Aliasing optionand I’m sure some more that I’ve forgotten about!!

July 19, 2005 at 9:13 pmDo your chroma sharpening plugins (suitable for HDV, HD, DV, PAL DV, SD etc.) relate to your excellent article Chroma Sampling: An Investigation?
I think that article was the lingua franca of explanations in the DigiBeta, BetaSP, DVCAM and miniDV debate and methodologies
Great Article, Great Plug-ins,
BryceDon’t worry Mr. B. I have a cunning plan…

July 19, 2005 at 9:18 pmI found that the method you see in the article for NTSC DV, although worked great, was difficult to translate over to other chroma samplings and due to errors in FCP, it won’t render in 10bit.
So I developed a new way of doing it! And this new way works with all samplings and 10 bit, although I find the best results for NTSC DV involve using both plugins together, G Nicer and G Chroma Sharpen.
Anyway, I should be getting this new release out today, so you can try them later on.
