Plug-In for adding audio waveform effect?

Any video you put on the timeline that has audio with it will add an audio track containing the audio that came with the clip.
If the video clip has no audio, only the video will show up. You can always connect a microphone to your sound card and record a voice over. Vegas comes with several audio effects like noise gate, EQ, compressor, reverb, echo, ect.

I’m not talking about in the timeline — I want a moving waveform representing the audio in an audio track superimposed on top of the video. I.e., the rendered video will have a squigly line moving to the music over the rest of the video.

After Effects has a plug in that does this – but I don’t have after effects. Look at this video for an example — go about 1:30 in to see the results.

It’s been asked for before, but I’ve never seen a solution.
But, until someone writes one, you can try using a free PC oscilloscope that uses your sound card for the input, and do a screen capture of the waveform then import that into Vegas.
