    Hi Guys
I am negotiating with a buyer and the specs sheet he has given to me has some confusing information (because I am not an expert about aspect rations etc).

In the resolution requirements, he mentions 3 possible output sizes:
    (16:9) 1280×720
    (16:9) 885×498
    (16:9) 321×498

Well, in After Effects, for example, when I create a new composition and mention 321 in width and 498 in height, I never see aspect ratio as 16:9 next to these settings. I even tried square pixels and some other settings.

Your help would be very very appreciated.

I would suggest that your client revisit their deliver specs. Assuming you’re delivering in h264 then it should be said they do not support odd numbers of pixels. Neither of the smaller sizes are 16:9. I would have your client point to the technical reasons for these selections and if you can use letter/pillar boxes to make up for the difference in aspect ratio

    Hi dear,
Perhaps I should have mentioned this before that the available formats to choose from are “MPEG & MOV (H.264,DivX,Xvid)/ WMV,SWF,and AVI”

So do you mean 16:9 aspect ratio for the 2nd and 3rd size is IMPOSSIBLE, no matter whatever settings we choose from After Effects compostion dialog?

Thanks a million for your quick response.

Ask the client whether 884 or 886×498 and 316, 318, or 320×498, are acceptable. You can export 316×498 from Adobe Media Encoder with a custom aspect ratio of 14:5 to produce a 16:9 image.

The prior comment refers to exports from a 1280×720 sequence, as you had already recommended.
