    Hi guys,

I need a big favor from someone..

I haven’t been able to open my project file for more than a week now. Its been giving me the same message every time I tried to open it.

“This file is unreadable or maybe too new for this version of final cut”

    I’m on fcp 6.0.2 tiger

I have been researching and doing everything that everyone’s been talking about in this forum or other forums but still can’t get it to work. I read that someone might be able to open this and send me an XML file. So I’d REALLY appreciate it if someone would help me by trying to open the file and sending me the XML file for me to open in my computer.

    the file is at http://www.capturedartproductions.com/santo.fcp

Thank you so much in advance..

    Santo

Wouldn’t open on mine either – got to 50% and then quit out. It’s a big file, 22MB. How much RAM have you got on your machine? Can you open a previous version from your auto back ups?

    Good luck.

Almost 100% sure the file is corrupt. Look in the auto save folder to see if there is a file that will open.

I did download the project and it stops just before the 50% mark also. I tried it on my laptop that has 6,0,2 and Leopard running.

    o wow…

now its getting closer to the truth..

I’ve tried the autosave vault and only the files from two days before this one are able to be opened. The problem is, I made a lot of changes in those two days.

OK, I guess I have to accept the truth now and start to redo the whole thing again with the latest working file from the autosave vault..

I suspect there is a corrupted media file but don’t know which one.

    Thanks guys, much appreciated..

Did you ever figure this problem out? I am having the same issue and nothing is working for me. Any tips from your experience?

Sorry, I never got to fix my file, ended up redoing it from the last working project file. I’m sure that the file was corrupted in someway. Good luck to you.
