Please H#LP, It says Media Pending FOREVER!
Hello, I’m working on macbook 2.4GHZ intel Core 2 Duo, Memory- 2 GB 667 MH z DDR2 SDRAM, Mac OSX Lion 10.7.5 in Premiere Pro Cs5.5, the project has a few dynamic links with after effects, its a short film, big project, i open and for the first time it says media pending forever. I have 322GBs of storage free. It then won’t let me close the project and freezes, any ideas? Cheers

2GB of ram is not near enough to link in an AE comp. Export a finished file out of AE or get atleast 8GB of ram though you should have 16GB bare minimum.

It’s been ok before ie the past 2-3 months, i recently installed a trial of adobe premiere cc, could that have something to with it? would it work by relinking media that is pending? I’ll try what you say and see if that helps, thanks

When you link AE over to Premiere a separate instance of AE has to launch. That has a dedicated ram space outside of what Premiere uses. 2GB of ram for any HD is already well below what you need for Premiere alone not counting AE. It may have worked before but that doesn’t mean it wont break as soon as you add something that takes to much ram space or an update changes the caching. Do not link if you don’t have the ram space to deal with it. That is asking for problems. Yes make sure you relink the pending media.

Ok when I try and open the after effects composition the spinny thing spins and it freezes, i have a deadline by a weeks time so need to fix this asap, would reinstalling make any difference?

I didnt add any new links to the project I didnt add any new files to the project, the first time it happened I had adobe premiere cc opened at the same time and was exporting a video via the encoder from cc, the i opened the project, is there something in there that could of triggered it. I have since uninstalled premiere cc but no difference

Don’t worry about responding not you might be as iv just copied everything into a new project without dynamic linked clips and should be ok if i link the clips to after effects at the end and then export so i don’t need to reopen the project with dynamic links in so it doesnt have to think about it, thanks for your help

NP. However if you delete the media cache with all Adobe programs closed and then launch your AE comp is may open for you.
