I am major problems with drop outs, but it only seems to be for the first 2-3 mins on the tape then everything else is ok. Could this be bad stock? I have always used Panasonic AY-DVM63PQ tapes and this has happened before. I have cleaned he heads on my camera using a Panasonic head cleaner and it has not helped.

Camera 1 year old and used once a month

My latest shoot is ruined, Any suggestions on what this could be? here is a shot of the time line.

This has happened on both tapes today.

I have tried some brand new tapes, same again, it loses timecode sounds like it is doing something to the tape (very high pitched noise), pauses on digitizing. Strange thing is is fine when you whizz the tape forward say 5 mins, the cameras acts as normal, what could this be?

    “what could this be?”

It’s probably time for a trip to service. Sorry I can’t offer anything else other than what I’d do.
