  • Please Help! Scene Files from Panasonic website don’t download properly !

Posted by Pierre on December 2, 2008 at 10:32 pm

The “.txt” scene files from the panasonic website are supposed to have a file structure that starts with a main folder called “private”. Apparently there is a specific file structure that needs to be in place for the scene files to upload to the camera properly from an SD Card.

When I download the scene files they’re plain .txt files.
    Example: hpx2000_foolsgld.txt

    The upload isn’t working.

Any advice on how to fix this or where to get the correct scene files??

    thank you,
    Michael

    Hi,

Go back and read the instructions on the page. It says to first save the scene files in your camera to an SD card. Then that SD card into you computer and drill down through the folder set to where you find the scene files, last one in the folder sequence. Notice how the files aree named. Save your new files with these same names. The scene file folder can only hold 4 different scene files, they need to be named SCENE1.TXT or something like that. Copy the name as your camera wrote it.

Providing you are downloading for the camera that the scen file is written for, it should upload if you have followed the directions. The files as they are on the site cannot download the folder structure. YOU have to create that locally with your camera.

    Hope this helps,

An addendum. Make sure you have named your files like the camera understands them. It will not understand foolsgold.txt.

    Hope this helps,

Do you know of a video tutorial on this? I’m having trouble understanding the renaming portion.

Am I changing the “scene name?” For ex: the standard scene files are: bstr, flo, star, etc. Do I name the new scene files (punchy, velvet, nature etc.) bstr, flo, star and so on?

    Sorry for the confusion.

    Mary
