    Please help

    Here is my set up:

    Deck: DSR 45
    Final Cut Pro 4.5 on a dual 1.0 G G4
Black Magic Extreme card (for genlock only)
    4xoutput “brick” black burst generator.

In the Audio/video settings under A/V devices tab I have audio output = firewire and in the options I have 4 channels chosen which defaults it to 32000 hz.

My question is. Can I output the first two audio tracks in my time line to channels 1 & 2 on the deck and the 3rd and 4th channels on my timeline to channels 3 & 4 on the deck? In one pass?….

I need the full mix on 1 & 2 and the music and FX mix on 3 & 4.

Any help would be wildly apprieciated as this is the first time I’ve used this set up.

Note: When I set the A?V devise tab to $ channels of output audio via the fire wire… the graphic audio volume meters on the little monitor on the deck respond by switching from 2 to 4 tracks… GREAT but- when I actually play the time line, I have levels on only 1 & 2. There IS sound on channels 3 & 4 of my time line but I’m not sure whether the deck is set up.

You’ll have to make sure the individual sequence settings are for 4 channel output as well. Then right click either in the area to the left of the timeline or in the audio tool and you can patch which tracks go to which channel. When you change your sequence settings, the audio meter in the audio tool should show 4 audio outs instead of a stereo pair.d

Hmmm… I remember this was broken awhile back. Worked in 4.x. Apparently it’s still broken. All the settings go through, but when I map the tracks it still just outputs stereo.

You my friend have saved me a lot of heartache. Thank you so much! It worked. I feel a little less stupid now.

Thanks a million for the superfast and correct answer.

Didn’t see your last post. it DID work for me. Are you using 4.5 or 5?
