    Hi,

I am still having a major problem burning a 25 minute production to DVD.
I have tried changing all sorts of parameters in premiere 2.0 but still no joy. I left the computer on last night and after 10 hours it had only 20%! I was on the phone to Adobe for about an hour today and had to spend

When was the last time you de-fragmented the harddrive you’re using to store the compressed video? I’ve seen that bring the process to its knees…

Does the same material preview render and export to tape properly?

Also, can you export to a DV AVI, and how long does that take? The amount of effects makes a difference, and the program does not use the preview files you created.

  • Are you able to burn data files to the DVD drive when using other software (such as Nero, Roxio, or Sonic Solutions)that your system came with.? That would say whether the DVD drive is even functioning correctly or not. (reading files doesn’t count) Can you export your project using Adobe Media Export within Premiere Pro, as a DVD file from the scroll down.? Premiere Pro will not export directly to a misregistered DVD drive. But if you can export an AVI or DVD file (eliminating the DVD drive) to your system or AV drive, you should be able to get to the root of your problem. With a little help from this forum. you may be able to save $$$ instead of paying long distance support. ouch…

    Hi all of you.

I’ve seemed to have resolved the problem. I have started a new project and recreated the original video movie, but this time i’ve been more selective with special effects, filters, etc., and it seems to have speeded up the process. I can now write the file in about 2 hours. Does adding a lot of effects slow down the burning process? Best regards and thanks again, Bruce.

P.S. I think everyone on this forum should work for ‘Adobe Support’ – I contacted them regarding a couple of problems and they knew less about the product than i did! This forum is definately the place for ‘real’ advice…
