Please Help : Capture Problems with HDV
I am using my Sony HDV Z1U as a deck and trying to digitize into a FCP 4.5 HD system, and recently I have digitized with NO problem whatsoever.
But now I am having some problems with my G5 mac and I had to do Archive and Install on my mac and since then I can not digitize, basically what happening is: I have deck control to my camera but my FCP does not see my camera, or the footage I want to digitize. On my capture setting it says it is missing a deck ~ the strangest thing I have encountered. I mean, I can control the deck for some strange reason but also it says it is missing the deck, go figure?
I am running a G5, and running panther on 10.3.9 with 1.5 gigs of ram. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

4.5 doesn’t support HDV. It’s only available in v5, unless you’re downconverting.

Hi Tom,
Yes, I am downconverting to still cannot see anything. Recently, I had digitized from my camera with NO problem, this is new problem I am encountering.
