  • Please advise me on 3d space and orientation

I am working on a commission that has turned out to be a bit 3D (AECS5) which is posing challenges as I mainly work in 2D. I need to fully understand:

    1. setting up a 3d space with lights etc
    2. using custom views etc to orientate myself around
    3. using cameras by parenting to a null object and moving null objects

Once I have a set up a 3D space it is tricky to see where everything is without first clicking on a layer – is there an easier way? Do any of the views affect the camera? If anyone can point me to useful tutorials (I have done loads but need more!) I would be very grateful. I have only managed to find one tutorial on kinetic typography which is central to this project – so if anyone knows of any please advise.

    Thank you.
