  Playout server and Adstream / IMD integration

  Hello:

  I have been asked to make a list of tech. requirements for a small TV station. I have experience when it comes to production gear: cameras, lighting, etc., but I’m less experienced when it comes to the back-end equipment (mixers, decks, switchers, etc.).

  I’ve been looking around for playout servers, and there’s one specific thing I was wondering: is there any one of them that has integration with digital ad platforms such as Adstream and IMD? One would think that that would be the main advantage of these platforms, and yet, it’s a feature that I haven’t found anywhere. Do people in TV stations still download the ads and add them to the playout server’s schedule “by hand”?
