So I’m on my first big C4D project with another animator and we’re having trouble keeping a consistent look. Even though we’re using the same color palette our animations are looking really different.
Our lighting is different, and even tho our colors are the same we’re not using the same textures, even the bevel and thickness of our text plates don’t match.

Neither of us really has experience working in this sort of team and our creative director really doesn’t have any ideas besides “talk to each other and work this out”. I’m thinking that maybe one of us should make a global lighting rig that we can both build in, but idk. Any ideas?

One idea would be for one of you to create a final scene file with the appropriate lighting and then each of you can create individual elements in separate files. Bring the separate elements into the master scene as Xrefs. While you’re building the elements you can load low-poly proxies into the xrefs to help with composition and camera moves.

Probably a good idea for you two to come up with a sort of style sheet, too, so you’re working with the same materials and text elements.
