playing music form DVD
Hmmm, i’ve said i’d build a DVD for a friend’s project and along with a few videos he’s included a couple of tracks from a CD.
I should point out that he owns the copyright on all the media involved.
My question, or request for advice, is what should i do regarding the timeline. Do i have the link simply go to black video (the thought seems wrong to me) or should i make up some sort of backdrop or screen-saver to play?
What do you guys think?

I’ve seen audio-only features (usually old radio broadcasts or interviews) on DVD’s done a couple of different ways. One is to attach the audio to a menu, the advantage being that it’s clear to the user how to get out if they want. (Probably not as big a deal for listening to a song.) The other way is put together a simple slide show of images related to the audio, such as publicity photos.
A screen-saver type of thing sounds like a good idea, too. Especially if it’s themed to the rest of the DVD content or the band playing the song.

I do like the idea of using a menu instead of a timeline. I think the slideshow idea is pretty sensible too.
