Playing Media 100 QT files on new Mac w/out Media 100 Codec
I have a Mac G4 with Media 100i (8.2.3). Many QuickTime animations were saved in After Effects using the Media 100 compression. These movie clips will not play in the QuickTime player or After Effects on a new Mac G5. This new Mac does not have Media 100 on it. All I get is a blank white screen. No audio either. Is there a easy/quick solution for the new G5 to recognize these clips? I can re-render them in After Effects using the Animation compressor on the old machine. That’s a lot of time.

You don´t need the Media 100 application, but you need the Media100 quicktime codecs to play back the files. They can be found as a free download on the Media100 website.

I went to Media 100 website and navigated to this page: http://www.media100.com/support/downloads.php#null
As I have Media 100 8.2.3 on the old Mac G4 is the download near the bottom of this page what I want (“Media 100i 8.2.3a”)?
Am I looking for something else instead? I can’t find any listings of “Media 100 Quicktime codecs” on their web site.
Then any particular instructions on how or where to install in my new Mac G5?

Look under Media 100 V12+. There is the Codecs download.
