Activity Forums Blackmagic Design Playing image sequences off the Premiere Pro timeline?

The “folder technique” is the only documented (by BlackMagic) method I’m aware of. I think it’s in their manual?
I have tried using FrameLink, but it seemed untenable for my workflow. Can’t remember why, but it ended up being easier to render to AVI.
I don’t find render-to-AVI to be a killer, but my stuff is usually less than 1 minute.

    Hi David

I have not tried this myself, but it just occured to me while I was reading your thread. Have you tried the folder method, onto the timeline, then create a new sequence, and nest the original? This would enable you to edit like normal, without having to pre-render to BM AVI’s. Your suystem should be grunty enough for this…. I’ll give it a go myself when I have a chance.

    Hi Brett,

OK, you’re going above my Premiere Pro knowledge now! I’ve not done ‘nested’ things before. I’ll have to look into that. Let me know if you have any luck – sounds like a plan!

I’ve still not heard back from BMD – normally they’re very good at responding to support emails?

Has anyone tried HD image sequences straight off the Premiere Pro timeline using the eclipse rather than MBE?
