    Hi,
    i have got a BR-HD50 deck. how can i play & capture footage shot in 1080i on Z1 & Z7 cameras.
i have tried a lot of settings but it only shows the timecode i cant see the video or audio meters.
i have spent a lot of time is there any possibility that i can capture 1080i from jvc br-hd50.

    thanks

    Hi Amit,

I don’t believe it is possible to play back1080i footage on the BR HD50.

I’m not currently by our deck but i do believe it is possible to play back 720P footage, as in that you may record with a JVC GY HD200 series camera, and output it at 1080i but you cannot playback material originating in 1080i.

That is my understanding of what the deck is capable of…but i’m happy to be rectified.

As an aside…if you have a Z1 or whatever just use that. If you are working in SD you can down convert the footage to SD over firewire if necessary.

    Hi Mike,
    thanks for the help,
i was just going through the manual that said it plays 1080i but i didn’t knew that it converts 720p to 1080 & does not plays the footage that is shot on 1080i.
Dv footage is not a problem. i shoot weddings also & i shoot evrything on 1080i now so probably i will just sell this deck & get a 1080i player. i have got a sony Z7 so i don’t think capturing from the camera is a good idea. what do you say, or else i will try & get a cheap handy-cam that plays 1080i.

    Thanks for your help
    Amit
