I probably just haven’t found it, but is there a way to keep the playhead in the timeline window during playback. I.E., instead of having it go offscreen to the right where you can no longer see the clips, is there a way to keep the playhead position in the timeline window… you know by having the clips move left so the playhead position is always visible?

Auto-scrolling timeline- unfortunately not a feature in FCP X as of yet.

[James Cude] “unfortunately not a feature in FCP X as of yet.”

And I hope it never is, except maybe as an option. The nice thing about X is that you can edit during playback. Having the clips be a moving target would be awful in my opinion. 🙂
