Hi, hopefully there is a simple solution to this: I just reinstalled my OS and upgraded to WinXP x64… however, this is giving me a problem in Vegas I didn’t have before: it won’t preview. When I push play in either the timeline or trimmer, the timecode simply sits still, and the video doesnt play. When I try to drag the playhead left or right with the mouse, it doesn’t move, locked in place. I can only move about the timeline by moving frame by frame or by randomly clicking to another spot on it– I can’t get fluid video. I’ve tried reinstalling Vegas as well as trying a number of different video codec packs, and running the program in Windows XP compatability mode… is there anything I might need to install as a result of the OS installation? Any ideas whats going on? Much thanks.

My friend has just run into this issue.
when he connects his multichannel focusrite firewire soundcard and also connects the camera for external preview then the playhead freezes.
    same symptom.
Nothing has changed, never had a problem before that.
just started doing it the other day.
when he disconnects either one then he gets the playhead back !!
