  • Playhead jumps to the end randomly?

Posted by Salam Lee on March 5, 2019 at 6:56 am

So this has been going on for a bit but it’s getting harder to tolerate it.

At random moments during the edit, when moving, splicing, deleting a piece of audio or video,
the playhead just jumps to the end of the timeline.

I know there is a move to end of timeline shortcut, but I have it empty.
And it just gets annoying after sometime because I have to either zoom out and find my way back, or constantly set an in/out point and hotkey to it.

Anybody deal with something like this? It’s like once every few minutes, right after an edit.

First thing I’d try, if you haven’t, is to trash your preferences.

Unfortunately it only worked for a day. There isn’t much in the preferences I’m even changing too from default.

Sometimes preferences get corrupt and cause strange things to happen. If it worked for a day, then maybe something is happening on your system to corrupt the prefs file. I could not even begin to guess what that could be. Might need to contact Adobe support so they can access your computer and try to figure it out.

I see. Guess there’s not much I can do on my end. Currently waiting a response from tech support but thank you for your help!
