Hey Yash,

You have not told us anything about your system specs?
And, is your project HD, 4K..?

Worth checking:
1) Have you unknowingly updated to the new version of PPro, just out in the last day or so?
If you have, you might want to roll back.

2) Have you shut your computer down, left it for 5+ mins (I prefer 30), and turned it back on to see if that helps.

3) Trash your cache and preferences and see what happens.

But as said above, we don’t know your specifications. As it could as easily be your hard-drive filling up.

Does it stop playing or just pause to buffer? If it stops playing, the play button will change from a || pause symbol to the > triangle play symbol.

If it’s pausing to buffer, it will still keep trying to play, but will just hang while it’s loading, and the pause symbol will still show.

If it’s buffering then it’s down to system specs, issue with GPU, footage quality etc, something that is stopping it rendering.

If it’s stopping playback after a few seconds, not sure what to think. I hate trashing prefs myself, always seems a poor “fix” but I’d support it in this case. Could be keyboard mappings have changed to “play around” or “play preview” which is causing it to stop. Else it could be some other setting, either way, a clean prefs should rule out any of these things.
