  Playback options for PPro CS5.5 – Blackmagic Design Decklink Studio

  Hey guys,

  I’m currently editing on a mac pro system that I originally built for FCP.(2009 – 8 core – 16gb RAM) About 6 months ago, we started the switch to Adobe CS5 (and 5.5), and I’m really struggling with playback issues using my Blackmagic Design Decklink Studio card.

  I’m wondering if others are having issues as well. I’ve even considered buying another card, but I’m not sure what to get.

  We work with a completely tapeless workflow, and have no need to acquire video via deck or camera. Everything is shot to disc, and we use the Decklink card for playback only, so investing $1500+ in a card is really overkill. I’ve noticed the Blackmagic Design Intensity Pro, which offers a HDMI playback, but I don’t know if it would work better than my current configuration.

  Any suggestions? Is anyone using the Intensity Pro with CS5.5? How does it work for you?
