The playhead in Premier Pro CS3 is offset from the Video, both in the Timeline and in the Source window. When I hit pause, I see the video jump ahead like 15 frames or so. When I watch the playhead rolling through the time line, it does not match with what I’m hearing or seeing in the viewer. Any ideas?

    Thanks guys!

That seems to be just the way the program works. The playhead takes a moment to start playing, then the audio/video lags behind the playhead. I wish it was more like Vegas and Avid where the playhead and what you’re hearing/seeing is EXACTLY matched to the playhead.

Turn off the VTR or camera and you’ll get instant playback and stopping. The reason you’re hearing the offset is that it is routing through the VTR or camera’s hardware and there is a lag. The audio is also probably not following the video through the firewire. These are all settings in the Playback options (right click the program panel).

Wow I feel stupid! Thanks so much guys. I’ve been with Premier since version 5.7, but I just forgot about this little detail. It was so random but I forgot my camera was plugged in and still turned on at times; so everything was routed through it. I thought for sure I messed up my hardware acceleration settings when I was fooling around!

    Grazie!
