When I upgraded to FCS2 I started getting a playback glitch randomly in the viewer and the canvas, but not on the external monitor hooked up to the sdi of the Kona LH. Stopping and starting the clip would usually make the glitch go away, but it would return at random. I dealt with it while I finished the current project as it was only annoying but didn’t have any lasting effect on the footage or the output to tape. I did a complete format and reinstall of tiger, FCS, adobe apps, kona drivers and the glitch persists. Sample screen shot at

When the glitch surfaces it happens rhythmically about 2 times per second on 1 frame. The screen grab is on 720p footage, but I’ve also had the glitch on dv materiel. Any one else seen this? My current setup is:

    Macpro dual 3.0ghz
    4 gigs ram
    osx 10.4.11
    QT 7.3.1
    FCP 6.0.2
    Kona LH 5.0 drivers

The setup i had when it started was

    Macpro dual 3.0ghz
    4 gigs ram
    osx 10.4.10
    QT 7.1.6
    FCP 6.0.1
    Kona LH 4.0 drivers

    Thanks, Tim

My guess is that your display card needs reseating, or needs a refresh of its control panel?

interesting suggestion, i would not have thought of that. I’ll look into it, but I would think if that were the case that the problem would not be specific to final cut only. This doesn’t happen in any other applications. Any one else seen this issue?

    Thanks, tim
