    Hi Guys

I just upgraded to your latest driver running on a G5 dual2ghz, FCP 5.02, QT 7.01 OS 10.4.2
    Decklink Extreme
I have some footage dvcpro hd 1280×720 24fps. Before I upgraded the driver I got no picture to my monitor , now I do, however the video does not update when playing only if I scrub through and/or jump from spot to spot. Is there something I need to do to fix this or is the hd down convert just having troubles?

    Thanks

    Michael,

Since Extreme is a SD card you have to set your output to something like blackmagic 8-bit or 10-bit, and make sure your view settings match that as well.

Tried everything David, very odd. However if I switch the output to cinema I can send it to my lcd monitors and it plays just fine, even a 27 inch lcd . I guess I will harass the boys for BM to see what they can offer

    Hi Michael,

Please update your software to FCP 5.0.4, QT 7.0.4 and latest DeckLink drivers. Contrary to David’s suggestion, you don’t need to manually set the External video setting for Blackmagic. The Blackamgic Easy Setups should set that automatically. Please ensure your external video is set to “all frames”. For HD video you need 2 GB or more of RAM and a fast disk array. Please let us know if you still encounter problems.

    Hi Michael,

Sorry, DVCPRO HD does NOT require a fast disk array. A single 7200rpm disk should be adequate unless it is very fragmented.
