playback choppy when I use magic bullet fx
Why in the hell do people say 16gb of ram is enough for premier cc…. I see now aftr a day or so with my new rig that ibuilt that that statement is a bold face lie.. now before I spend the next week rebuilding and installing all my goodies. … my question is will 32gb of ram allow me to edit and use my red giant effects smoothly. .. or do I jeed to opt for a total regut and get the intel board with 8 slots so I can get 64gb.. or do I need to look into a server board…. all I want is to edit and see my results while doing so can sombody give advice on the best move.. my current situation is
Amd 8350 oc’d @4.5ghz
16gb of corsair 160
Gtx 650ti 2gb
3 separate harddrives 1tb each
800 watt power supplyI have 1000 left to make something new or expand what I have…
I was thinkin new video card and another 16gb of ram but I dunno if this gets me to the promised land of smoother editing in premier. … Any suggestions?

If you want better performance you won’t get it by dumping your machine full of RAM. You need CPU and possibly GPU performance. I’m not sure what GPUs the Red Giant plugins will use but I’d get one that does. Also not all effects will run realtime no matter how good your machine is.

Ive been monitoring the cpu and it doesn’t even reach %30 load…. I added 4gb of ram I had from another build it seems to help. .. I checked about the gpu they say open gl support for red giant.. im leaning towards the 6gb r9 280 but im not sure how well opengl plays with premier cc..now. I realize the reasons why big boys use dual cpu mobo. Ill jus have to do the best I can until I can build one of those dual socket monsters. .
